Planting design and maintenance at Hermannshof

The Hermannshof garden is a beacon for research into stress-tolerant, naturalistic planting. Following on from Hansen/Stahl's work on perennials and their (garden) habitats, Cassian Schmidt has been managing Hermannshof until 2023. I joined the team of gardeners at Hermannshof in all seasons to research how best to accompany naturalistic perennial plantings in the long term. My findings are presented in the paper 'A shifting role for the landscape practitioner' published in Landscape Research (see publications).

Le jardin du Hermannshof est une référence en matière de recherche sur les plantations naturalistes tolérantes au stress. Dans le prolongement des travaux de Hansen/Stahl sur les plantes vivaces et leurs habitats, Cassian Schmidt a pris la direction du Hermannshof jusqu'en 2023. J'ai rejoint l'équipe de jardiniers du Hermannshof en toutes saisons pour étudier la meilleure façon d'accompagner les plantations de vivaces naturalistes à long terme. Mes conclusions sont présentées dans l'article "A shifting role for the landscape practitioner" publié dans Landscape Research (voir publications).
